Charred has incredibly tender and flavourful Portuguese-style chicken. I’m quite partial to their large salads as a side, but their potatoes are great, too. The service is always fast and the servers are very helpful and friendly. For those who like hot spice, I recommend the “very spicy” Piri Piri sauce. Charred is my go-to spot for chicken in Hamilton.
So happy they reopened after the fire. Been coming here over 5 years and was sad when they place got charred. The food taste fresh as before. Same menu, same friendly staff. Come back and visit this place! Amazing flavourful food. Love the texture of the chicken, and the sauce is AMAZING. Spicy but not too much heat. Excellent place to get food from.
Really tasty lunch! I had the Charred Chicken Sandwich with a house salad and my wife had the Brisket Sandwich with fries. The sandwich and side portions are not only delicious, they're also pretty generous. You'll probably need a takeaway box. Loved the decor. Great place for a bite to eat on James Street.
This place is slowly becoming my go to for chicken rice and now soup. It’s great that they have halal option and I know for a fact that other people in my circle are also flocking here more. My favour item here is either the 45 whole chosen with 3 sides to split with 3 people. They are generous with their portions the chicken tastes juicy and delicious and isn’t dry like other places. And did I mention the soup ? The large soup has excellent and I mean excellent generous portions of chicken. I like their spicy sauce which for once compared to other places is actually spicy. Really great place and loving it so far.

Excellent food and well priced for the amount of flavourful food that will arrive to your table. House made Caesar dressing and croutons yes incredible caesar salad with chicken! House made broth for their soups, and the poutine vegan gravy and Montreal cheese curds are melt in your mouth amazing! Tony also makes from scratch melt in your mouth the best tasting cannolis that will blow your mind! Thank you staff!!!
Absolutely fantastic! Labour Day lunch really was a fantastic experience, owner asked us if we liked it , and interacted with us , waitress fantastic and food absolutely mind blowing ! Two chicken poutine’s and the taste was out of this world . Really quality food here for sure and the staff went above and beyond .
Ordered food delivered for a party - that was a bonus. Thank you - pricing was reasonable & the chicken, potatoes, flatbread, coleslaw were delicious. There was plenty & leftovers! Great job by owner, Mark, JR, driver and entire team who cooked and assembled food delivery!
